Our Chinese visa applications were approved, so it looks like we'll be scaling that Great Wall after all. We are excited to see the Olympic venues and maybe even take in a track meet in the bird's nest.
We have to put our computer away tomorrow, so our next entry will be from somewhere out there west of here. Our first stop is Cook Islands, then New Zealand, and onto Japan. I think I hear the unwashed floor calling me.
We are soon going to be homeless! Our renters arrive tomorrow and somehow I am taking time to write my thoughts down. I wonder how we can spend 2 months putting things away, cleaning, putting more things away, and then at the last minute still find more things that have to be put away? Our renters are arriving from Belgium tomorrow evening. They are from a small town which is 25 Km away from Lasne, the Belgian town that the Simonart (Sandy's Dad's) family is originally from. We leave on Sunday the 24th of August, and we are filled not only with the present panic of preparation but also with such excitement. Becca was squealing excitedly tonight about getting on a plane! We have read, researched, and wrenched all the possible information out of everyone and so are feeling well prepared. We are looking forward to getting on the plane so all this mayhem can stop!
