We had an early lunch so we could be back in the stands prior to the Pit Straight festivities. During the driver parade, the car carrying Jenson Button could not get up the hill to turn 1 and he had to get a ride with Jean-Eric Vergne
Vettel kept his lead going into Turn 1 and maintained it throughout the race. Webber made a good start but I got boxed in and didn’t get a good exit off the corner which let Grosjean through into P2. There was some contact in the back of the grid between Maldonado and Button as the cars made it through Turn 1, however, the safety car was brought out on the first lap after Sutil and Maldonado touched wheels on the back straight sending Sutil into the wall.
There were some great battles further down the field and for a while we thought Daniel Riccardo may have held onto 10th place however he was overtaken by Button on the last lap. He had a great duel with Paul DiResta earlier in the race, with most of his attempts to overtake at Turn 1 helped by the DRS zone on the pit straight. He eventually got past him going into Turn 2.
All together a great venue to visit both by the teams and race fans. There were 258,000 in attendance this year. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, especially having the opportunity to watch qualifying from within the pit garage of Force India.
