We flew back to Sydney today. Not a good flight, I think the Virgin pilot wanted to prove he could land as fast as possible - or perhaps it's just one of those airports. Anyway I for one am glad to get here. Byron Bay was not my kind of town. I'm probably getting old or just not an old hippy!! We are staying at the Railway Square YHA which I love. Yes it's right next door to the Central Station and was once the parcels shed. It has been well converted, some of the dorms are in old railway carriages on what was the platform. Also has a cafe if you can't be bothered to shop but all amenities are close by and it's within walking distance of the touristy bits.
