So we organized a gathering of old Snow Mountain Ranch employees to meet up at Byron Bay for the day.  At least the ones that lived close by.  We all met up at the Beach Hotel, which at the time was having a band competition and the winner got to play at the Blues festival which was also going on Easter weekend at Byron Bay.  We were only able to see a few bands since the rest of the time we were enjoying the sun and the beach, but the first band to play was a local jug band.  If anyone remembers Emmet Otters Jug Band Christmas, that is exactly what we were listening to.  We would have video taped some of it for a certain few to listen to when we come home but Alane forgot the video camera in the car and by  the time she got back the band was done playing.  So after a few round of beers for the guys we headed out to swim in the bay while Alane and Jessica were on the beach babysitting. Then back to the bar to listen to some more bands  and a few more rounds of beer.  We all had a good 2.5 hour trip home so we headed back around 5 so there wouldnt be much driving in the dark.

Now since we had all been drinking a bit with the exception of Alane, she was elected to drive our friend's car home Jug Band at Byron Bay

.  We were all a bit scared of the idea of Alane driving to suped up Chrysler 300M, especially Simon, the owner, but we didnt have much of a choice.  Alane is used to drive the Mazda 3, which is a small car, she is also used to drive on the opposite side of the road so we can say she doesnt have much experience driving big cars on the wrong side of the road, but we would have to say that Alane did a fine job of getting us home in one piece and without damaging the car.  (Alane) - Well, the biggest car I have driven before Simon's was my father in law's car which I only drove in his own drive way, and Simon's car was for sure the heaviest car I have ever driven. I remember when I was just trying to get out of the parking space and I kept pressing the gas and the car wouldnt move. Apparently that is because of its wheels which are too big, but once I got it out of that spot I was fine. I needed some help to overpass cars as I couldnt see my left side at all, so the guys had to tell me when to go back to the left lane, but besides that, I did alright. I am just glad that the car was automatic and that I wont have to drive it again...hated it! - nothing personal Simon!

On a side note we are glad that we had a chance to catch up with all of you in Australia, we had a lot of fun and thank you for all the help you guys gave us while our visit...let's just not make it take another 4-5 years to happen again.
