Entry 25 of 61 | show all | print this entry

We were supposed to fly today to Buenos Aires and from there fly to Sydney. Well, the air company Aerolineas Argentina (AR) - the same company that lost our bags on feb 10 when we travelled to Punta Arenas - rescheduled our flight to two days from today...not two hours, two DAYS. What had happened was that a flight almost 6 days ago was canceled and instead of booking another plane the airline has been bumping its passengers back 2 days to the next flight to Sydney. Even though AR already made us loose 1 days of vacation time in Punta Arenas, there was not anyhing we could do or no one who could help us to get in today's plane. AR's supervisors are useless and incompetent to do their own job. They dont even have the right skills to deal with the passengers (who were all pretty mad).

They sent us to Buenos Aires for two days (Alane made sure that we were on the flight to Buenos Aires just in case two days from now something would happen to the flight in Santiago). They paid for the hotel, meals at the hotel and transfer, but if we "leave the hotel and spend money it would be our own cost", as the lady told us. The hotel where they put us was two blocks from the Constitucion metro station, which is in the oldest part of Buenos Aires. When we arrived there, around 10pm, all we saw thru the streets were homeless, transvestites (spelling ?) and prostitutes. So even if we wanted to leave the hotel, it would also be at our own risk.

If your following we had already visited Buenos Aires a week or two ago so there really wasnt much that we needed to see so we ended up chilling out at the hotel for two days watching tv.

We flew on the 19th and not even the flight attendants made effort to make our trip more enjoyable. They were rude and also useless. They calculated their meals badly, and when it was our turn to receive dinner, there was only meat, no option. It was hard to even open the container, because it already smelled grosse, and it was even harder to see the people right beside us eating chicken with pasta....

So, I didnt put all the details in here, but I hope you take this tip and believe us: DONT EVER FLY WITH AEROLINEAS ARGENTINA. Even though the tickets price are cheaper, they will cost you a lot more than expected.

AR stole from us 3 days of vacation time. We were not able to enjoy the days we were supposed to have in Sydney, and all they could do was raise their eyebrowns and says "there is nothing I can do". Not even an apology or nothing.... If you happen to be travelling with them any time soon and cant change plans, dont waste your time talking to any of the supervisors in case something goes wrong. The supervisors Renato Aracibia, Claudia Martinez or Roberto Saccani are not there to help you, they are there to show how well they were trainned to not do anything about their company's mistakes.
