We spent 3 nights and 2 1/2 days in DC. We didn't realize that Dulles Airport was so far from DC center and had a little bit of  a problem figuring out how to get to our hotel. Finally we decided to be big spenders and took the super shuttle to our suite at the Doubletree Hotel.
We took an afternoon walk from our hotel via Pennsylvania Ave to the White House and surrounding area. About 4 hrs later, a blister on my foot and a 3 hr. dinner we call it a night.

The next day after checking the AAA book, I tell Jack we can take the subway to most of the areas we want to see, but dummy me , I also tell him about the self guided walking tour which is what he wants to do.  We begin at 9:00 am and by 1:30 Jack is pooped and so am I but I try not to show it. We decide it's time for a paid bus tour to give our footsies a rest.

On our last day we take the subway to Union station to pick up the train tickets to Philly. It was quite an exiting morning after getting my hand stuck in the subway door, getting separated from Jack and getting off on the wrong station! The afternoon was much better..Rony my cousins picked us up and took us to Ellicot Maryland, the oldest city in MD, ...also to Baltimore not a place we want to live and finally to Columbia where she lives.
Columbia is also a place were we wouldn't mind having a house with all the areas for hunting, fishing and tons of parks, as well as 30 min. away from Baltimore where she works. She also barbecued for us and I had my first taste of venison, not bad.
