On the way to the falls we drove thru the Berkshires of MASS. They are a series of picturesque mountains with just as pretty towns and the mountains are perfect for hikers. We combine our driving between H 90 and smaller highways so that we can slow down and enjoy the view, since this is really our last hurray for MASS.

We arrived  at Niagara Falls  Canada around 3 pm. At the border we received the 3rd degree. I was very surprised to get asked so many questions.

After we checked in and rested, we took the hotel shuttle to the falls. I wanted to find out if we could buy our Maid of the Mist tickets in advance...closed, but found out it's $14.00 per person. The area were the falls are located is a combination of Las Vegas, Disneyland and Fisherman's' Wharf. The shuttle dropped us off at the old casino as opposed to the new  one...we'll check out the new one tomorrow.  Of course since we were there Jack had to make a deposit, but first we had to change our currency...something we didn't expect!
We lost 40 cents in the conversion. The casino is two floors of game tables and slots. Afterward went out to dinner didn't enjoy Ruby Reds. We walked to see the falls illuminated by color lights, what a sight beautiful.

Our 2nd day began by going on the Maid of the Mist. The boat took us REAL close to the horse shoe fall. We were right up front....this has been the best experience so far....
afternoon we spent driving River Rd. which took us to the vineyards. Our dinner was terrific at the Fireside Restaurant and Jack ordered a Pecan Caramel Flan... the best dessert I've ever had!
