Wednesday, September 28th

We decided to stay about 25 miles outside of Cooperstown at a Jellystone Park. This is one of the campgrounds suggested in one of our books and it has a huge 35 acre stocked lake that we could do some fishing in.  After see all the salmon all day long we were in the mood for some fishing.  When checking in we asked if we needed a license to fish in the lake and if it was catch and release or if we could keep the fish.  The lady told us that we were really the only ones in the campground besides some seasonal campers and that we could pretty much do whatever we wanted.  She said that if we wanted to keep a couple of fish she wouldn't tell anyone.  So we decided that if we caught anything good we could keep some just to make some dinner for ourselves tonight.

We ended up keeping 3 that were big enough to cook for dinner.  I caught a rock bass and Jared caught the other two sunfish.  I also caught a perch that we threw back.  Jared had some better luck and also caught three perch and a catfish, we threw all of them back.  We ended up fishing for about 2 hours until it got dark.  Then we headed back to the RV to filet our fish, bread and fry them up for dinner.  We breaded them in some breadcrumbs and some instant mashed potato flakes.  We made the rest of the instant mashed potatoes to go with the fish for dinner.  It was all delicious and I actually ate a good amount.  They didn’t taste fishy at all.

After dinner we just relaxed and watched some old episodes of Raising Hope on Netflix before heading to bed.
