Thursday, September 22nd

When we finished at the Magic Hat Brewery we decided to spend the night at the Shelburne Camping Area. We got a site with cable so we are hoping to be able to catch some new shows tonight including It's Always Sunny.  So we plan on just spending the night eating some dinner and relaxing.

Friday, September 23rd

Today we got up in good time and headed out for the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory.  We did the factory tour with two other people and their daughter.  The little girl was pretty funny and didn't really care about the tour.  She just wanted to run around and by the end of the tour was on the other side of the railing where they were actually making the bears.  She was pretty funny to watch.  When we finished up the tour we checked out the store and then headed out on our way.

Our next stop was Shelburne Orchards were we headed to pick some apples.  Vermont is doing an Apples to Ipods promotion right now where if you find a wooden apple in one of the participating orchards you win an ipod.  We spent some time trying to find a wooden apple, but had no luck.  We did pick a bunch of apples though so now we will have to bake something with apples in it.

Next we headed to the ferry so that we could take a ferry across Lake Champlain.  This would bring us in to New York so that we could head for Lake Placid.  You can drive around Lake Champlain, but we would have had to go way south out of our way.  The ferry brochure said that the max height for vehicles on the ferry is around 13 feet, but when the ferry pulled up we were concerned.  One of the workers informed us that this ferry has an 11 foot clearance.  Our RV is about 10’8" so we said we should just make it but lets measure it again just to be sure.  They measured and agreed that we would just make it, so we took it nice and slow driving on to the ferry.  We were all good and boarded the ferry.  It was only a 25 minute ride so we took the time to make lunch in the RV.  It was also pretty sweet because it only cost us $19 to take the ferry.
