Sunday, August 21st

When we headed out we decided to stop for lunch at taco bell and then headed to my parents house to eat it. After lunch we decided to just hang out and relax some at the house.  Later in the day we headed over to my Uncle Mike's house so that Jared could review some drawings with them and survey the house.  When we got back from their house we ordered some strombolis from Italianos for dinner.  After that we just hung out at the house and relaxed.

Monday, August 22nd

My parent’s house looked like they were trying to grow a forest out front since Philip didn’t mow the lawn the whole two weeks we were away.  So Jared got up this morning and mowed/weed wacked the lawn.  That took a while and after that he spent most of the day working on my Uncle Mike’s addition.  While he did that I just read/relaxed on the couch.

Today was Philip’s first day of Law School at Drexel University.  He is living at mom and dad’s house and taking the train in and out of the city every day.  He texted me while he was on the train ride home and asked if I would pick him up from the train station, I said of course and headed out to pick him up.  He assumed that mom would make dinner and want to talk to him about his first day of school.  Unfortunately mom was at work all day putting together her classroom so she didn’t make any dinner.  Philip was so upset, so we decided we better put together some sort of dinner.  Philip suggested we have tacos so we headed to the store to pick up the stuff we needed for it.  When we got home to make dinner we invited Kristen and Philip’s girlfriend Lauren over for dinner.  They came over and we all had a good time hanging out, drinking wine, and learning about Philip’s first day of law school.  I was having such a great time that I didn’t want to let Kristen leave when she decided it was time to go.  Of course I pestered her for a while, but I finally let her leave.  After that we all just hung out for a while and then headed to bed.

Tuesday, August 23rd

This morning Jared and dad got up and headed to FDR to golf. I decided to have another lazy day and just hang out on the couch watching tv and movies.  Of course this resulted in me being the only one home when the earthquake hit.  It was really weird and the first and only earthquake I have ever been in.  I noticed the lamp shaking at first and then the china cabinet really started rattling.  I jumped off the couch and stood in between the doorway between the living room and kitchen and held on to the china cabinet so it didn’t fall over.  I was all alone and was really confused because I wasn’t totally sure it was an earthquake afterwards since I have never been in one before.  I expected a breaking news to break in on the tv, but it didn’t happen.

After that excitement I made some lunch and hung out eating it.  Mom finally came home and asked if I felt the earthquake.  She had been at the grocery store and said that she didn’t feel it at all, but some guy asked her and she heard it on the news. I told her yeah I felt it, but then I wasn’t sure since it didn’t break in on the tv and I was all alone.  She told me to get off the movie channel and put on a real channel. Haha. She is so smart.  Then we tried to call Jared and dad to see if they felt it on the golf course.  Mom talked to my Aunt Nancy who was also home alone and felt it, but has been in earthquakes before so she knew what it was.  Then I talked to Kristen who was at her house by herself and she had a couple things fall off of one of her tables.  She said her dogs were going crazy during it and I told her that Nash didn’t care at all.  He was lying on the ground when it started and all he did was lift his head and look around and continue to lay there.  Apparently he doesn’t care about earthquakes.

We finally got a hold of Jared and dad after that and they didn’t fell it on the golf course.  They both along with mom were very jealous that they missed it.  My friend Meg came over later in the day and she told us her story of the earthquake.  Then Kristen and Pete came over for dinner too and Kristen told us her story.  Pete didn’t feel it either.  When Philip got home from Drexel he let us know that he didn’t feel it either.  Everyone who didn’t feel it was extremely jealous of those of us that did.

We all got over the excitement of the earthquake and ate dinner together.  Mom made a roast and homemade macaroni and cheese.  It was delicious.  After dinner dad, Jared, Philip, Aunt Nancy and I headed in to Liberties in Philadelphia to play some quizzo with Bryant and Brad.  We did really well and ended up tied for 2nd place.  When we were done with quizzo we dropped Aunt Nancy off at her apartment and headed home to go to bed.

Wednesday, August 24th

This morning we packed up the car to head back to Huntingdon so that we could get the RV ready to head out again.  Before we left Glenolden we stopped at mom-mom and pop-pop’s house for a short visit before we headed out of town.
