Where I stayed
Dolly Copp Campground
Today we got up in good time to head out from the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort. We were heading to Mt. Washington, NH, but decided to hit up a McDonalds for some breakfast and a Best Buy. We were contemplating buying a netbook so that we could each have a computer to work on. This is because I usually monopolize the computer every night with blogs and Jared is trying to work on an addition for my Uncle Mike's house. We spent some time in Best Buy checking out what they had. Jared decided that he really liked the all in one desktop computers with the touch screens. They were pretty cool, but out of our price range for right now. We decided that since he would probably want something like that when we have a place to live again and jobs we would hold off on buying anything right now.
So we headed out of Best Buy to make our way for Mt
After we finished up at the information center we headed to a campground that is a couple of miles from the start of the trail and made ourselves an extremely late lunch. Then we relaxed for a little bit before heading back out of the campground to try to find some moose. The park ranger told us that the lost pond a couple of miles down from the campground could be a good spot to see moose. She said that they are kind of in different areas then usual right now though because they are in their mating season. We decided to head down and do the 0.6 mile hike out to the lost pond. We both thought that it would be a pretty easy level trail and wore flip flops. We were mistaken. It involved climbing on rocks and avoiding mud. We made it to the pond fine though and proceeded to sit on the bank for a while hoping to spot a moose. We were unsuccessful again and had to walk back the 0.6 mile trail in the dark. We made it out in one piece though and headed back to the RV to head back to the campground. When we got back to the campground we made some soup for dinner, relaxed and got to bed early for our early wakeup call tomorrow.
