The next place off of 20 east that we decided to stop at was in Independence, Iowa. Cedar Rock is located there, which is a riverside house completed in 1950 by architect Frank Lloyd Wright.  This is 1 of 7 houses that Wright built in Iowa and 1 of 17 houses that Wright "signed" with a signature tile. Our book informed us that the house is closed on Mondays and is free.  Of course when we got there the gate was closed with a sign that said closed. There was a guy standing taking a picture of the house, but there really wasn't anywhere on the street for us to pull over for a picture. So that was a bust. We headed back to 20 east for our real mission the Field of Dreams.
