Tuesday, May 31st

We got up early today and got ready to head out of the campground. We decided to head for Cape Blanco State Park in Oregon via the coastal highway. On our way we tried to go to Stout Grove in the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. This was a minor detour on our way to the campground for tonight. We picked this location to check out because supposedly part of Star Wars was filmed here. We have already decided that it could have been filmed anywhere in the redwood park because It all looks similar to the Moon of Endor (Jared made me get technical here Would say where the Ewoks are from). The main road to Stout Grove does not allow motorhomes or trailers on it so we had to go around about way that would require us to do more hiking. We were cool with this so we headed on our way. When we got to the area that we thought we wanted to park the RV at we decided to check in the Visitor's Center for better directions to the trail head. Unfortunately the guy let us know that there is a foot bridge that gets put in seasonal for the trail we needed and it isn’t in yet. He tried to find some other places we could park and get to it by, but we were pretty much out of luck. We told him we were trying to go there because we heard it was were part of Star Wars was filmed. He got extremely excited and informed us that he has the Rebel Alliance tattoo on his shoulder and came to work here for that reason. He said though that he isn’t 100% sure that is the area that they actually filmed at. He has heard it and said it is a gorgeous area (we wouldn’t know cause we couldn’t get there), but he said that the mo reconfirmed area is farther south near the Avenue of the Giants. So we struck out all around with this detour.
