Sunday, May 15th

After heading out from Santa Barbara we struck out to find a sweet spot to camp on the beach.  We have been driving along 1 N or the Pacific Coast Highway and have seen a couple good spots where you camp parallel and right next to the beach.  We decided that we would love to stay at a place like that. We realized that the first place we were headed to wasn't going to work out. Jared looked at a satellite image and saw that this one was actually like a lot and not right on the beach. So he did some more searching online and found Jalama Beach County Park.

This place turned out to be fantastic.  It wasn't quite the same set up as the ones we saw previous, but it was great.  The ride in was a little tricky because it was 14 miles of windy up and down roads, but it was definitely worth it. We were able to get a spot right on the beach with us actually parking on the beach. Our picnic table and fire ring were on the beach too and we could walk right down to the ocean.  The only downside was that we had absolutely no service, so I won't be able to call my mom until tomorrow.

We got a fire started and up some dinner. It was a great dinner of grilled fish, corn on the cob, and rice. Then we sat out on the beach and played some games. It was a little chilly, but a great sunset. We really loved this place and would definitely suggest it to anyone. The guy that was staying next to us said that it is rare for someone to be able to just pull up and get a spot on the beach.  So we were really lucky.
