Friday, May 13th

We were still pretty close to Point Dume so we decided to try to hit it up again today. Luckily there was a spot open and we were able to do some hiking and climbing on rocks down by the ocean. There is a huge hill that we climbed to the top of. There wasn't too much to see though once we got to the top. So then we decided to take the path down to the beach and climb on the rocks looking for tide pools. Right when we got to the rocks there was a baby seal on top of one. I was able to get a picture of him and we were pretty close to him. There were other seals out on further rocks in the ocean, we aren’t sure if this guy got stranded cause the tide started going out or what.  We continued on the rocks and found some crabs, sponges, and starfish.  We had a great time climbing on all the rocks.  It was pretty neat with the ocean waves hitting them.  By the time we got back to where we started the baby seal was gone so I am hoping it got down somehow and out to his buddies in the ocean.

When we left Point Dume we drove along the Pacific Coast Highway without a real destination in mind. We were driving along and passed Neptune’s Net.  For those of you that don’t know Neptune’s Net can be seen in the first Fast and the Furious movie.  When we had dinner the other night at Malibu Seafood it reminded him of the place that Dom and Brian go to eat in a scene in Fast and the Furious. Jared did some checking in to it aka watched the part in the movie and saw that it was actually Neptune’s Net. We decided to turn around and have a late lunch there. I had a hamburger and Jared had a crab cake sandwich. Both were really good. It was pretty cool to see all the people coming up on their motorcycles and hanging out. After lunch we headed out for our campground.
