Monday, February 14th
We got to the Graceland RV park around 12:30pm today. It is located right behind The Heartbreak Hotel and we could walk right over to Graceland. So we decided to eat a quick lunch and then head over to check out all that Graceland had to offer. We purchased the Graceland Platinum Tour which included the Graceland Mansion, Elvis Presley: Fashion King Exhibit, '68 Special Exhibit, Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II Jets, Elvis Lives: The King & Pop Culture Exhibit, Sincerely Elvis: Elvis in Hollywood Exhibit, and the Elvis Automobile Museum. All of the different exhibits are not really long so we were able to get through them all and do some shopping in the souvenir shops. They let you take pictures inside of every place but with no flash, so some of the pictures are fuzzy because I can't hold the camera still that well. But it was really awesome to see all of Elvis' different stuff. Graceland isn't a huge house or anything and looks like it was really lived in instead of some place that you felt you couldn't touch anything if you were visiting. So that was pretty cool.

After visiting Graceland we headed back to the RV to get ready to go out for Valentine's Day dinner. The people when we checked in to the campground told us about a place that would come pick us up in a pink limo and drive us back after dinner, so we decided we would check it out. What better way to go out for Vday then in a pink limo. HAHA. The restaurant was Marlowe's Ribs & Restaurant. It has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives before. I got the Vday special which was steak, 5 fried shrimp and two sides, Jared got a BBQ combo of pulled pork, ribs and two sides. Everything was pretty good but not really out of this world. Jared said the BBQ was good but nothing amazing. It was a good night though and we got the free limo ride there and back which was great since we don't have a car with us.

Today we decided to head down toward Beale St.  We caught the free Sun Studio Shuttle which runs from the Heartbreak Hotel to Graceland, Sun Studio and the Rock n' Soul museum. It dropped us off at Sun Studio, but we decided to walk from there to The Peabody Hotel to see the Peabody Ducks. Everyday the Peabody Ducks march across the roof of the Peabody Hotel, ride down the elevator to the Lobby, walk along the red carpet to the fountain and jump in the fountain at 11am. Then at 5pm they reverse their trip to head back up to their Duck Palace on the roof. We got there in time to see them march (more like run) from the elevator to the fountain. I tried to get some pictures but they were really moving so they are pretty fuzzy. It was pretty cool to see though. They just hang out in the fountain all day until they go back up at 5pm. After watching the ducks run to the fountain we headed up to the Skywalk to check out the Duck Palace and the views from the top of the hotel.

Once leaving the Peabody Hotel we headed back to Sun Studio to do the tour. It was a guided tour and was really a great tour. I suggest anyone visiting Memphis should check it out. The girl doing our tour was so in to all the artists and the music it was great how she conveyed her enthusiasm to us. There are tons of different clips that you listen to of all the different famous singers that started out at Sun Studio. Part of the tour includes going in to the actual recording studio where all those great singers recorded. We got to do some rocker movies with an original microphone that Elvis himself probably sung in to at some point. The studio looks exactly the same as when Sam Phillips started it. It really was an awesome tour.

After Sun Studio we caught the shuttle to The Rock n' Soul Museum. This is an audio tour through the years how rock and soul started. There is tons of great information and lots of different songs that you can listen to throughout the tour. It was definitely informative and great to listen to all those fantastic songs that started rock and soul.

After The Rock n' Soul Museum we walked up and down Beale St. checking it out. We ate a late lunch/early dinner at Silky O'Sullivan's Pub. There outside area was open cause it was a gorgeous day out and they had a two man band playing. They played any requests that people had. After leaving there we again walked up and down Beale St. and headed into A. Schwab's which is the oldest store on Beale St. Jared bought some great Elvis shades from there. It had a large variety of different items including some fun hats. We were tempted to buy some but decided against them. I don't see us having any crazy hat parties with just the two of us. After that we headed over to the FedEx Forum to pick up some tickets for the Memphis Grizzlies game that night. They just happened to be playing the Sixers so we figured it was fate and we had to go. Unfortunately the Sixers lost but we had a good time watching the game. They almost came back late in the game, but couldn't pull through. We decided to get the bus home from the basketball game but just missed it. We were waiting for the next one and some guy who looked homeless came strolling by and asked me if I was waiting for the bus I said yeah so he gave me a dollar and said "Believe in God" over and over to me. It was really weird to be getting money from what looked like a homeless guy but I didn't know what to do since he kept shoving the dollar in my hand so I just took it. For some reason the bus never showed up (I don't know if it was running super late or what) so we just ended up taking a cab home, but at least I got a dollar out of it all. HAHA.

Wednesday, February 16th
Today we just relaxed and hung out at the campground. We took a walk with Nash over to Graceland again to check out the wall outside of Graceland that has a ton of signatures on it. It is crazy how many people have signed it. Then we just came back to the camper and played some games. Now we are going to cook some meatloaf for dinner and relax all night.  We will be heading out early tomorrow to start the commute towards Terra Alta, WV. It is like a 13 hour trip so we will be spending the night somewhere on the way.
We also wanted to say thanks to Nissa and Billy for suggesting some great places in Memphis!!
