Show trip route
We arrived in Nashville around 1pm. We gained an hour leaving Gatlinburg in to Nashville due to the time change for central time. Luckily our phones automatically switched so we weren't totally confused. Anyway we checked in to the KOA and got tons of help from Mike at the front desk. He immediately called over to the Grand Ole Opry to get tickets for us and set up a shuttle to get us there an back. We didn't really know any of the people performing that night but they were all really good and it was a great show. They break the show up in to four different half hour sections with a host for each section that introduces the other performers playing through out the half hour and interacts with the crowd. All were really good and we definitely plan on downloading some of the songs that we heard.
Marty Stuart - Host, Connie Smith, The Grascals
Jimmy Dickens - Host (he was hilarious with tons of great jokes), Riders in The Sky, Mel Tillis
Bill Anderson - Host, Mike Snider, Terri Clark (she sang two new songs off her new album which were really good)
Diamond Rio - Host, Stonewall Jaskson, Jean Shepard - Bobby Osborne & Rocky Top X-Press
Like I said the show was really good and we would definitely recommend that anyone visiting Nashville check it out
Saturday, February 12th
Mike at the front desk set up a shuttle that would pick us up at 4pm and take us in to downtown Nashville until 1:30am. We figured this way we could check out downtown for a couple of hours during the day and then check out Nashville's nightlife.
Before catching the shuttle to go downtown we decided to bike over to the Opryland Hotel. Inside the Opryland Hotel is gorgeous. We took tons of pictures inside and wondered around the hotel for about an hour before biking back to the campground.
Once we got back to the campground we took Nash on a nice walk and to check out the dog park at the campground. He had a great time eating what snow was left. We tried to get him to play on the stuff in the dog park. He did jump through the ring once. But he isn't in to trying out tricks.
We then caught the shuttle at 4pm to head in to downtown Nashville. Our driver Jerry told us all the great places to go to and dropped us off right on Broadway in the middle of all the bars
Unfortunately when copying the pictures over from the camera card to the computer I only copied over the one of the Charlie Daniels Museum sign and then accidentally deleted the others. We didn't have lots though just a couple of Jared in his great hat. I am sure we will take more of those in Memphis.
Sunday, February 13th
Today we had a relaxing day hanging out at the campground. We did some cleaning, organizing and hanging out at the dog park with Nash again. It was gorgeous weather today with a high of around 64, a little windy but overall a great day.
We are heading to Memphis tomorrow and staying in the campground that is right at Graceland for at least tomorrow night.
