We have been picking the best looking places along the Spanish Mediterranean Sea in which to spend our days. Today we thought we should travel inland for a change, as we were nearing the point where we start moving south-west rather than south as we near the lower part  and of Spain.
We travelled further than any day on our trip to this point. This is what we saw.
Huge areas of land that have been bulldozed into destruction to gather products for cement, brick and tile factories.
Areas where as far as the eye can see there are plastic covered vegetable farms. Amazing. Every time we buy tomatoes etc from Spain, this is where they have grown. In areas like this. Not sure how they water them as every river bed is dry. Some river beds are even used for growing crops, so rainfall must not be imminent.
High mountains - of white soil, red soil, with outcrops that look like coal, and with areas of purple rock. A geologist would have fun here.
Huge areas of housing all all the same buildings in a row - it reminded us very much of the Middle East. Nearly all flat roofs now as well.

Cave houses in one lot of mountains.

Beach town after beach town. Some very bare, and some very attractive. Like San Jose. And everywhere in these towns northern Europeans escaping the cold. There musn't be many Dutch left in the Netherlands, because they are here. As are the Germans.

Tonight we are in a campsite below the road and right on the beach. We hear the sound of the waves tonight. Lovely.
