Drumhalla wouldn't exist without the Dinosaur museum, and I must say, it is stunning. We were about the second group there, which was dam good timing, because by the time we left the car park was full and there was a steady stream of cars travelling to the area.
There was every kind of dinosaur bone, display, model, fact, you could want. Lots of interactive stuff for kids to do, tv sets set up with heaps of interesting information provided, and you could also see the paleontologists at work through a glass wall.
Malcy had hummed and haahed about going there once he learned how far out of Calgary it was, as he had originally thought it was in the city here. And all the way out kept saying things like "I'm not expecting much - I don't want to be disappointed". Well he wasn't disappointed, and all we could think of was we wished the kids could have come too - it was just awesome, and not to be missed if you ever come this way.
From there we came back to town and found our way to two or three shopping malls, before picking up a Japanese takeaway and coming back to the motel.
We are off to 100 Mile House tomorrow. Will be away by 7.30 am - don't want to miss our free breakfast!!! And then there will be some driving, and I'm picking a few more twists and turns than we had today. Our wee machine tells us it is a 10 hour drive and that has been very accurate so far, so we won't be at Ev's before 8.00 pm - a long day, but we will share the driving and take our time, and if we decide it is too much, will stop somewhere. Weather will also play an important part. Another state to be crossed - and the point of our journey almost in sight. Looking forward to getting there, but wouldn't have missed a minute of the trip so far.
