What gorgeous fall color we have to enjoy.  The weather is absolutely perfect.  We haven't let the Federal Government screw our trip.  Still lots & lots to see that they don't have their hands in.
Bar Harbor, Maine:  We spent the entire day walking this beautiful costal heritage.  Though we couldn't tour Acadia National Park (as of yet) the town of Bar Harbor, located on Mount Desert Island,  is so enchanting and on the shores of Frenchman Bay.  It has the charm of a small fishing village.  When we crossed the Trenton Bridge onto Mount Desert Island, I didn't realize we had left the mainland.
Early Tuesday morning we started our walk at Village Green.  Two large Cruise lines had docked in the harbor with about 4,000 tourist converging on the little harbor  (made for a lot of excitement).
The "Shore Path" along the shore of Frenchman Bay started at the town pier near Agamont Park, (where we walked the narrow path) it was bordered by beach roses.  I can't express how awesome to walk this mile long path that followed the seawall and views of the Atlantic were breath taking.  I MUST SAY!!!!!!!!!!
The restaurants were crowded from the cruise lines.  While waiting for a table, we were talking to a couple.  The hostess asked if we wanted to sit together. We both said "sure".  They were from Boston.  We had a great time with our new acquaintance's.
Leon and I wanted to walk to the Bar Island, (we had read about it)  You need to check the tide charts before heading onto the Island.  At low tide you can walk across the shell covered sand bar from Bridge St.  Wouldn't want to be here when the tide comes in, (sea level would be up  9ft.-12 ft).
Walking back from the pier, Leon says, 'That looks like your cousin Joe,  from Owensboro."  I said "oh my gosh, that's my 1st cousin's wife, Rose Mary".  They saw us and we all are amazed.  Here we are in Maine with our RV, and they had gotten off of the cruise ship.   What a rare coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!
What a super time.  Still hoping to see Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain.
