Well day light saving ended today so we were up early, went for a walk to st marks sq with our found plastic shoe raincoats. Funny...but did look like everyone else..tourists only. Yes we had the bright blue ones others bright yellow or red with lovely plastic soles. Off we headed on the elevated walkways no crowd so what a bonus. It was an amazing experience. No gondolas out today, boats flying down the main canal sending waves through. They were setting up for the marathon run through Venice....what the....it's flooded. People were doing their warm ups with no where to go. Ah Venice in the rain. We had a great day. Off to museum to see visiting Gaudi exhibition, really gave a historic portrait of Venice in the 1700,s the art was great, we had an audio tour which was the added bonus. then off to the visiting Dali exhibition....wow it was fantastic. Never thought we would experience anything like this. Didn't,t bother with st marks basilica as line up too long being a Sunday and we have seen a lot of churches already. So we did get our fill of art today and loved every minute looked at the time 3pm so off for scampi and a wine for late lunch. Rain then started so we kept walking. Yes ian we got lost again but not too much today. Best buy of the holiday...cashmere lined leather gloves. Our hands were freezing so that made all the difference. Rhys you would go mad here buying shoes. We were just glad ours were water proof. Well nothing else has added to our luggage except some cd,s. taking bags onto trains, buses, over bridges, up 3 flights of stairs makes us think for once. So 15kgs is enough. We are still to work out where to head tomorrow weather just showed max 12 in Venice but rain clearing. We might head to Milan . Oh tough decisions

Wow Jan what a trip!! Bring some of that rain and water home, still very dry here!
Your photos are incredible. Apparently the tides in Venice are the highest they've ever been right now so enjoy your paddling. We stayed a week in Venice, loved it and the trip to Burano Island....and we got lost too :)
