Hello!
So, we were walking home from school yesterday and I tripped on the sidewalk. There was a whole square of sidewalk missing and I had just looked into the bag I was carrying to see something when ahhhhhhh. Down on to the other knee (remember I hurt one in Istanbul?) This time it wasn´t as bad but still..... Darcy´s remark was this: "From now on someone has to hold Mom´s hand at all times." I´m not sure that would help. I think I would just pull them down with me!! This morning I woke up and looked out on a bright clear sunny day. So I got into the shower, changed into shorts and a tank top (sorry to all of you suffering back in Canada) and came out of the bathroom to see the city surrounded by cloud. Litterally. Marcello (the husband of Olga who are our hosts) works for the regional airline here said that the airport would be closed. We ate breakfast and went to school and 2 hrs later when we went out it was a beautiful bright sunny day. (I got a bit of a sunburn). Then we went home ate lunch and again it is cloudy ( but not like this morning). The weather here changes by the minute. It will likely rain at some point today too. My spanish is coming along better than I thought it would (which isn´t saying much). I am really enjoying it. Andy and I seem to have the teacher in stitches on a daily basis. Olga makes us wonderful meals everyday. She makes us fresh juice every morning (melon, pineapple, a fruit they only have here called tomate de arbol (I think this translates to tomatoe of the tree). Homemade soup too -celery, carrot..... AND I am eatting it! (to those of you who know me well this will surprise you!) Last time I wrote I had the names of the other women who are living with us wrong. Their names are Inga and Regina. (I was all mixed up with the spanish ponounciation) I better go. I hope you are all well. Julia
