And We're Off!

Well here I am for the last time in an internet cafe writing to you all. (Well at least for this half of the trip). I hope to use some time at home over Christmas to upload a bunch of pictures to the site so you can see what we have seen.

Ribat 1

We were sitting at a restraunt today eatting Margharitta Pizzas (3 medium pizzas for 7.50TD) and talking about names. Darcy was trying to remember the name of a girl she met last year. She said her name started with an M and she was named after her Dad's favourite singer. Morgan suggested Madonna to which Brett replied "No, That's Grandmas name". I can't wait to get home to see the wardrobe Grandma has been hiding from me all these years! You go girl!

Ribat 2

We have been enjoying ourselves by getting a little Christmas shopping done in the Medina. We are not always successful finding something for everyone and it seems silly to bring home some little trinket that is not useful ....

Tomorrow we will get ourselves (and the extra piece of luggage we have had to buy) into 2 taxis (they are very cheap here) and on the the louage station. A louage is basically a shared taxi that has a predetermined destination (say North Gower louage station to Manotick louage station).  You pay for your seat in the louage and then wait for it to fill up (up to 8 seats). Your other option is to pay for the empty seats so that you can leave. Since we are 5 they usually leave just with us in the louage as the fair is worth it for them. We are hoping to get one to take us right to the airport in Tunis (which they aren't supposed to do) but if not we will then get 2 taxis to the airport from the louage station. We fly out with British Air at 19:55pm to Gatwick. We are staying the night and then leave for Canada then next afternoon and arrive home at 7:30pm. We can't wait to get home.

I wish I had something more interesting to report. Oh we went to the Ribat (fortress) here the other day. It is where The Life of Christ and The life of Brian were both filmed. Brett called it the Monty Python instead of the Ribat because everytime people told us about it they mentioned Monty Python.
