It didn't take long to conquer North Gower, world travel seems like a logical next step...

(I am writing this from Ontario-I can't believe I didn't write about it in Monastir...)

So we went to see a Roman Coliseum at El Jem. It is the third largest Coliseum in the world. (and since I've been home people who have seen the one in Rome tell me this one looks like it is in better shape.) So we took a louage to El Jem which is about a 2 hr drive from Monastir the louage driver waited for us for 3 hours while we toured the coliseum and the museum and then drove us back to Monastir. We made the arrangement with one driver and then part way out of Monastir he stopped the louage, got out, and introduced us to another man - "This is my brother. He will drive you the rest of the way." That was weird.

Anyway, the coliseum is pretty amazing. The pictures we took show me 'beating' up every member of my family - so it was a good day for me ; )

There was also a band there from Taiwan shooting a video. We figured they must be pretty famous in Taiwan to be able to go to Africa to shoot a video so I looked them up on-line. They are the biggest band there apparently. In English they are called 'Mayday'.

As I write this I am sure that I already did this entry. I wonder if I forgot to send it or if I'm just losing my mind??

The museum housed roman mosaics which are just incredible. It also has an old Roman villa - 'Africa House'. We met one of the men who worked on the restorations of the mosaics. He proudly showed us around the site and told us about each room.

Have a look at the pictures.
