It didn't take long to conquer North Gower, world travel seems like a logical next step...

Entry 32 of 72 | show all | print this entry

So after resting up from our travels we went into Tunis (which is where I posted the quick post about arriving safely). We later enjoyed a tour around the medina from a man named Farouq who showed us the view from the top of a carpet building which used to be the King's house. We then sat through a hard sell of carpets where they quoted a price of 320 dinar for a carpet I later saw for 32 dinar. He also took us into the courtyard of the Mosque and on to his families perfume shop where I paid more than I should have for perfume but he was a nice guy so....

On our way back to the train there was a huge racket that turned out to be at least 1000 birds (mostly sparrows and finches) coming to roost for the night. It was incredible.

On the train on our way to Tunis on the train we witnessed the local high school kids getting out of school and on to the train. The boys thought they were pretty cool and forced the train doors open and were pushing each other and jumping off at each station and holding the roof and running along beside the train. Morgan thought they needed to go to school a little longer as they didn't seem too bright!
