It didn't take long to conquer North Gower, world travel seems like a logical next step...

So we have enjoyed two full days in Ireland now. We are amazed at how many 'book makers' store fronts there are here. It seems as though there is one every couple of blocks. We also have been struck by the number of hearing aid stores there are. (Now it doesn't seem so odd that Bono got the nickname 'Bono Vox' from a hearing aid store as there seems to be one on every corner. I sat beside a 'bloke' on the bus today who will soon be a customer at one of these stores. He had his ipod up to the max volume I'm sure.

We went to the Dublin Zoo today. Seems like a crazy thing to do since we could easily see a Zoo in Ontario but the girls really wanted to go and Morgan was sick of seeing 'historical' stuff. We finally made it to a Tesco's (grocery store)and bought some groceries to help out with the food bills. Nothing in Europe comes cheap it seems. Gas here is 108.5 Euro's a litre (I think that is about $1.33CDN/litre)

I am wishing that we weren't in a hotel right now as we really aren't meeting any Irish people. It was nice at Kate's house as we got to know Kate's family as well as some of her friends. (Hi Nicki!)

We haven't been travelling long and I am already finding myself looking forward to getting to Turkey and Tunisia and finding a place to stay for a week or more and just live. You know, not go out sightseeing everyday. I don't want to do that yet as we have only a few days in each place right now. I can see us getting a place in Turkey for a week though. Maybe see some sights then settle in for a week and then see some more sights.

We have two days left in Ireland. One will be spent going out to Dun Loughaire (spelling?) and Dalkey. I'm not sure yet what we will do on the other day. We have not yet been to the National Museum or to see the book of Kells so maybe we will do that.

I better be off.

Julia
