What a weekend! Kate and Phil have been so generous in taking us about. I hope they will give us a chance to return the favour some day soon. On Saturday we went into to the town of Windsor. Phil took us through Eton to see Eton college on our way. I was amazed at how close the college and the castle are. The Princes could easily have walked to 'Grannies' for a visit. The other thing that was unexpected was that the town of Windsor is right up to the castle. On one side of the road was the castle and on the other a McDonalds!! After we toured the castle Kate, Phil, Edward, Emma and Rebecca (and Otto too!) came to meet us and we went for a walk through Windsor Great Park. There were herds of Moor Deer. I always though deer were pretty quiet animals. This herd sounded like a cross between sheep and cows! We came home and had a lovely dinner with Judy, Paul, Mathew and Lauren (Judy and Kate are sisters).

The next day Kate took us out to see Stonehenge, which the Druids (or whoever it actually was) conveniently built right next to a major road! (They were such a thoughtful people really!) It was very windy there. Darcy in particular seemed to be cold. We left there and went to the Salsbury Cathedral where we saw the best preserved Magna Carta (only one of 4 that are left of the original 40 that were made). Brett felt that it was a good idea to make it law that widows no longer be forced to remarry against their will. (one of the items written in to the Magna Carta). It was also sort of neat to read about how the Baron's and their armies had gathered outside King John's house-Windsor- in order to demand these reforms, since we had only just been to Windsor.

When we arrived home Darcy was still complaining of a bad headache and really not looking too well. So to bed she went with a fever of 102.8! Poor Darcy. Today Darcy and I have stayed home with Rebecca and Kate while Andrew, Morgan and Brett are in seeing the British Museum, Mme Tussauds and dinner with Lesha Heney (Morgan's teacher last year). Darcy and I are both very sad to miss this day.
