Sad News and Exciting times

I heard some sad news on the radio this morning. Jonathan Stuemer tried to kill his father in the middle of the night. I'm not sure if you know who I am talking about so let me explain a little. The Stuemers are a local Ottawa family that took their three young sons out of school and sailed around the world for four years ( http://www.northernmagic.com/ ). The Mom, Diane, wrote weekly columns back to "The Ottawa Citizen" and the whole city fell in love with their family and their journey. I read their book "The Northern Magic" last summer and I've been thinking a lot about them this past week or two as we squeeze the contents of our house into two rooms downstairs. I remember well her passages about racing around trying to finish packing before they left on their trip. I think it was only two years after their return that Diane died of brain cancer, she was in her early 40's I think. Now this......

Face Painting

Andrew has done an amazing job of getting our house packed up and ready to be rented. He worked this weekend with his brother (Thanks again!)packing the furniture away in the basement(how we will get the King sized mattress back up the stairs is a mystery). I have been up at camp training the Senior staff. I am home now (last night I arrived in at 9pm) and I head back to camp tomorrow after my last teaching day! So my journey is definitely beginning!

I won't have a lot of Internet access over the summer so I wanted to make sure I checked in tonight (my last night at home for a year!). I'm exhausted though so I'm off to bed. I'll write when I can.
