Well it is now Thursday evening of the March Break. I can't believe it has gone by so fast! We signed the kids up for March Break Camp so that we could spend a lot of time getting ready for our trip. We always are a little disappointed about how much we get done (or more to the point don't get done). This week Andrew ripped up the carpet in our bedroom. We painted the room and then Andrew and his Dad laid new flooring down. We are trying to make the house rentable!!

We have also spent time pouring through books, web sites and maps. We bought a LP book for Tunisia and a neat little book that is a travellers picture dictionary. We have also come across a great site called that allows you to find people in other countries who are willing to host you or show you around their town a little bit. We are really looking forward to meeting some of these people when we are travelling.

I wish I could report that we've booked our tickets and hostels and know exactly what we are going to do each day (I think that is what Andrew was hoping would come out of this week) but that just hasn't happened. We have to think positively though. We are getting things done just not as fast as we'd like.

We've been to the travel Dr. twice now. We've had shots for Hep. A and B and yellow fever. We need to finish the Hep shots and get rabies shots and maybe Typhoid. OUCH!

I asked the kids the other day what one thing they most wanted to do or see on our trip. Darcy and Brett said animals in their natural homes like monkeys, penguins and parrots. Morgan said the beach where he could go out of the 'house' every day and step onto the beach and continue the last days work on a huge sand castle. Doesn't that sound great?

I wish I had something exciting to report....maybe next time.
