Today we went to Devine Childrens Home a licensed orphanage run by a lady name Fatu.  When we arrived in our car the children swarmed vehicle and sang to greet us.   There were over 100 children and we gathered in a small open air building with three dozen staff.   The children opened the program with more song.  A group of teenage boys (most affected by the war) came up seperately to sing a beautiful song and a group of tiny girls (ages 3-6) danced while singing for us.  It was joyful and precious!  We handed out the items we brought the children and words can't express how thrilled they were to receive them.  The look on their faces made the trip worth it.  We bought two large bundles of clothes they sell here in Africa, which are hand-me downs from other countries.  The kids literally ran to the front to line up to get one used article of clothing.  I took a picture of a 6 year old girl holding up her used pajama bottoms (no top came with it).  They broke out in a cheer when we held up the soccer balls and loved having their picture taken.  When I showed the photo I just took they laughed in amazement.  They clinged to us and tapped us for attention.  It was overwhelming.  A few girls gave me a tour of their home.  I tried not to show how shocked I was by their bedroom which was 3 bunk beds crammed in a dirty room with concrete floors.  One bed fell apart when the girl sat down for the picture though they just laughed about it. They were happy and seemed to be provided for.
