Driving through the east coast wineries and forests we headed up to Mogg and Charlottes, this time going up the other coast of northern NZ. We drove through Napier and arrived in Rerewhakaaitu, back on the farm. PLeased to be eating a BBQ rather than fish and chips or sausage rolls ( as that's all they eat out here). Charlotte and Mogg's neighbours come round for a game of poka, this turned into a drunken game of pictionary.
25th Jan The only thing I asked Charlotte if we can do at hers was horseriding, I had looked into it elsewhere in the country and it is so expensive, plus you have to ride with muppets who can't ride. So as Charlotte has 4 neds in her fields we saddled them up, Jamie was dressed up in Charlotte's flourescent pink jodphurs and away we went riding around her farm.
As the sun was shining, we all drove out to Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty, a natural harbour hosting a game fishing competition. We sat on the pier watching the boats come in, some with their prize winning fish and a lot without any fish. We saw a 49kg shark ( can't remember what type), 38kg yellow tailed tuna and some other fish being weighed in. More thumbnails ...
