Just wanted to update you all on the fact that I have done the Sydney Bridge Climb!! Luckily I wasn't the only person scared of heights in the group!! This experience is amazing, I'm so pleased I did it, the views and feeling you get when you reach the top are unforgettable. Unfortunately we couldn't take any pictures of these amazing views as you are not allowed to take anything up in-case it drops down on to Sydney's busiest freeway (8 lanes of speeding traffic below you). You literally get your sexy outfit (which are convict hand-me-downs!) which is the same colour as the bridge so that it doesn't distract the drivers below while you climb. You also get cord to attach your sunglasses, a hanky which is attached to your wrist on a cord in case you have a moment, such as runny nose or if you start crying due to vertigo!!!! Then a radio, so the instructor can tell you the history of the bridge and take the piss as you're scared of heights! And finally you get a pulley system that attaches to your harness. You end up looking like someone out of a S.W.A.T. team!!
The climb took around 3 and a half hours but is just flies by. The walkways are awesome as there are only planks of wood separating you and a 50 metre drop!! There is some fun training at the beginning and you even get breathalysed so lucky for us, we can't afford alcohol!!
