Hello again you busy bloggers!!

Thanks to you all logging in, we have surpassed the 2,000 hits on our blog!!  So thanks all for tuning in!

We arrived in Split on a rickety local buse which cost a whopping 3 quid for an hour and from then on, we knew we were gonna like it here!!
We were given an amazing apartment just outside the old town.  A bit a histrory for you here, so pay attention: The old town was formerly a Palace in which people resided in and worked and also fled from war.  The palace then grew and grew over the centuries and it eventually became a town, Split.  The town centre is still surrounded to this day although the centuries have taken their toll, it remains a gorgeous town.  So there you go!!

We did however, nearly have the most expensive museum trip in the world when we visited these remains!!  Whilst having a piccy taken, stood next to the priceless and ancient sculpture of King Dolcetian, Heather leant back of the stand, that the statue was held on.......it wobbled........it swayed.....then it rocked from side to side........Hearts in mouth time.....before it settled back......PHEW!!!!  See piccy before this near fatal error!!

The look says it all..disaster looms!

We also visited the amazing cathedral before hiking up the bell tower for stunning 360 degree views of the town.  Whilst I was at the top, I noticed that my companion was missing.  Bearing in mind it is a long, long, long, way up some rusty metal steps, I thought I'd take some photos before she came up.  We she appeared, finally, there were tears streaming from her eyes and muscles were shaking with the altitude!!  After a quick bollocking for leaving her, I escaped with a future warning about heights and we continued to enjoy our day.

So this was our last mainland stay, and it's off to the islands now, first stop Brac on the ferry.......lets hope that nobody turns green this time!!

Until next time
