Hello all from country number 4 out of 5 on our European tour!
Well we arrived in Slovenia after two trains and two buses and left Italy in the distance going across the border by bus, which was an interesting journey! The total duration was 3 hours but the driver decided, on his best judgement, that everyone would like a break after 10 minutes and stopped literally just after we got on!! He then drove the rest of the way without stopping!!
Anyway, we got here and there is a definate change of season! Autumn has set in and tans are fading and clothes are been used that were cast aside in the depths of our bags!!
However, Ljubljana is a beautiful place and very quiet for a capital
We are staying in an Inn and it feels more like a home. We have a kitchen area, free internet and best of all A KETTLE!!! We have cable tv with English channels and so Heather has been glued to trashy tv and Eastenders!! RICKY!!!!
We have used Ljubljana as a prep base for Croatia, not really done that much but we have ventured up to the old castle which views spread 360 degrees around the capital. We also went to the gorgeous Tivoli park were we had an afternoon ramble and some lunch. We also had a look around the markets, which are stuck in the 80s, a shell suit anyone!!
We did venture and find some stunning archetecture with the famous triple Bridge over the calm and lovely River Ljubljanica and to the east we came across the Dragon Bridge which was the first bridge to be built and bring together the two parts of Ljubljana, very cool!
We have booked our first places in Croatia, so we are looking forward to our last adventure in Europe.
Enjoy the piccys and stay tuned!
