Hello, Sorry not been around but very busy!!

So from Rome we carried on South towards Sorrento, a 3 hour journey to Naples where we were greeted with shady looking charcters 1 man hitting a lady with his crutch and every other person eyeing up our bags. We then took another train well metro..............well cattle train to Sorrento an hours journey. We were delighted when we stepped of the train and could see our Hotel sign from the Station no walking miles in the wrong direction for us today!!
So the plan was to do nothing while we waited for the arrival of Liz and Ian (The relies) which we did in true style, caught a few rays sat on the wall as there are no free beaches in Sorrento (it costs €22 just to get a chair and not even an umbrella). We then decided we could no longer eat sandwiches and in True Brit style found a English Pub and had Egg and Chips washed down with a Cider.........................Perfect, we didn't talk throughout this meal! Although coming to think of it Jamie was sat facing the telly watching the Football!!

So then Liz and Ian arrived after a long journey from London, they had spent the evening before with Darren enjoying his 30th Birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Darren hope you had a good one, although I'm told you probably wouldn't remember much............We jump in a taxi to find our hotel which is in the Hills of Sorrento, amazing views, gorgeous rooms, and a SWIMMING POOL!!! Wow it's luxury to us!! All hungry we decide to head back into Sorrento to get some tea and show Liz and Ian the sights. We head out to wait for the bus and guess what happens..................................

Yes the Brits have brought the weather with them.................a downpour while we waited for our bus that was about an hour late!! We haven't seen a drop of rain in 6 weeks and now..........Back to the English pub as Liz wants Egg and Chips.

The next day we decide to go to Pompeii, back on the Cattle Train but only 30 minutes away. This place is a must, if you ever have chance be sure to see it. The History is amazing, a deserted place destroyed by a a volcano in 79AD their homes buried under serveral meters of ash and pumice. The full horror can be seen when you come across plaster casts of the shape of their bodies, some with their hands over their eyes. Luckly Liz and Ian had the great idea of getting an Audio guide as we would have been completely lost without it. We spent a full day here and then finished the day of with a gorgeous meal in the Hotel.

Be amazed at the pictures, although they do not do it any justice. You truely have to see it to believe it and even then I cant completely get my head around it................

Big thanks to Liz and Ian, was great to see you!! And you can keep your weather!! See you in October!

Later

H and J xx
