After checking out at about midday, we caught a taxi back to Ica. Instead of catching the tourist bus (Cruz del Sur) we opted for the local bus, Peru Bus, as it was a third of the price.
The trip took about 2.5 hours and we arrived at about 3pm. We made our way to our hostel by foot, saving the 5s a taxi would have cost to drive the 10 blocks (which in the heat with our packs felt like several kms).
We finally arrived at Walkon Inn, which appears to be a good hostel with fast internet (for South America) enabling us to catch up on our blog and have some laundry done for us.
After settling in when went and had a late lunch/early dinner and organised a tour to the Chaucilla Cemetery and our overnight bus ticket to Arequipa for 21 November 2009.
