We had a great last day in Florence yesterday, seeing the inside of the Duomo cathedral, the Uffizzi Gallery, where we saw such masterpieces as Botticelli's Birth of Venus, and then to the church of Santa Croce. The church is a who's who of Renaissance tombs. Michaelangelo is buried there, along with Machiavelli and Rossinni. We arrived in Rome this afternoon and are ready to go out and explore the city.

Looks like you all are making the best of your time abroad. We had our best J Street cook-out ever last night, but missed your presence. Weather has been crazy here lately with tornados and dangerous thunder storms; downright biblical! Keep the reports coming and see you when you get back to the Midwest, USA!
