real alcazar
Entry 7 of 26 | show all | print this entry |
We survived our tapas crawl. We only ended up crawling to one place called Bacala. Their specialty is cod. It was great. We went with 4 other faculty from the University of Seville, and had a great time. The past few days we have taken Stan around town. Today we went to the Real Alcazar. Originally built by the Moors in the 9th century, it was taken over by the Spanish in the Reconquista in the 13th century. The result is a sprawling complex of palaces and gardens with a mixture of Moorish and Spanish architecture. The gardens and fountains were absolutely beautiful. Tonight we are taking Stan to La Carboneria for more flamenco.
