First night in Seville
Entry 2 of 26 | show all | print this entry |
Well, we made it to Seville. We took the high-speed train from Madrid to Seville. The scenery was beautiful---we traveled through some mountains and saw an old castle in the distance. We made it here this evening around 6 pm. Our hotel is gorgeous--there is a courtyard with a fountain right below our window. We went out for a late supper, Spanish style. The city is pretty, but surprisingly dirty---we noticed lots of litter. But that could be from the May Day protests earlier today. Everyone is out at night here---dinner is usully around 9:00. We ate Spanish style, stopping at various places and having tapas. Katherine is loving it---there is so much to see on the streets. She is our goodwill ambassador. Spaniards love children, and she is fawned over everywhere we go. Needless to say, she loves the attention. James has his first class tomorrow, and he is looking forward to meeting the students for the first time. We are staying in the hotel tomorrow night, and move into our apartment Saturday.
