Finally in Madrid!

Well, we made it to Madrid in one piece, and so did our luggage. Katherine did well on the trip---she slept most of the way, which is more than we did. We arrived in Madrid at 10:30 am and went to our hotel. We had a nice cab driver, who gave us lots of tips, and did not mind that Katherine puked all over his cab. The hotel we are at is very nice---not too pricey, but comfortable, and close by all the sights. We took a nap, and then went to the train station to get our tickets for tomorrow's trip to Seville. The train station is beautiful---an architectural monument in itself. From there, we went to the Reina Sofia Museum, which is right across the street. They are open late, and we went in and saw the Picasso exhibit. The most famous of his paintings, Guernica, is there. I can't believe I finally got to see what, in my opinion, is the most important piece of art in the 20th century. We had a quiet evening at the hotel, as we all were feeling the effects of jet lag. We hope to explore this wonderful city more when we come back at the end of May. Tomorrow---on to Seville!
James here...Seville is cool and clean...and Guernica was haunting. Jimmy and David...wish you were here. updated.
