Our miraculous chicken bus connections continued on our way to tikal - 2 mins on the side of a dirt road with supposedly no busses, and we were nearly killed by one stopping to pick us up..
A fairly chilled evenening was followed by far more successful hammock accomodation than my previous effort!
With some kindly spanish lesbians waking us at 5am with their hijinks, we were off to see the sunrise from Temple IV. We were treated to a spectacular lightning show, accompanied by outrageous howler monkey screams, before the fog rolled in minutes before sunrise, resulting in our being able to see around a meter in front of us.
As the first peoplew to cut this view loose, we actually got to see a lot more of the site before anyone else got there, and made it back to Temple IV for the view later on (no thanks to our map-less navigating technique!)..
Despite the dificulties, and amazing site - my favorite so far - and we're off to Guatemala City.
