Hello
After the experience of Karoonda Park we moved to Canberra. We ended up having to go the long way round due to the weather. Very bad rain which would have made the road through the snowy river too dangerous. Which was a shame we hadn't really gone much further into the area. Anyway we found the campsite, eventually it took ages and I mean ages I thought we were going to have to free camp in a field somewhere. James would say that he found it and that I didn't give him enough information about the sites name etc. He would probably be right my navigational skills were right off!!
There are lots of free things to do in Canberra which is great when you are on a budget so we got our moneys worth and did every free event going! We went to the Australia museum which was really good we could have spent another day in there. The history is really interesting !! We went on a guided tour of parliament which was interesting and posted a card from there as well in the post office. We went to the National art gallery aswell which had a good mix of all the arts which James and I like. We visited the National War memmorial which is really good, the displays are brilliant and the information is great. I'm not sure what we have in England is not as good. They have obviousily spent a lot of money on it!
The city itself is clean, laid back and didn't feel busy or rushed not like parts of Melbourne. We treated oursleves to a pancake breakfast which was more of a treat for me than James. The parlour had an Alice in Wonderland theme. Which I liked!!
