The first thing we notice as we walked out of the airport in Adelaide,it was cold ,a really cold wind the first time on the trip we had to put our matching coats on .Beacause Australia is a little more expensive we decided we would try staying in a four man dorm room.We caught the shuttle bus from the airport to the hostel , checked in and went to the room . When we opened the door we met our first room mates a German lad and a kid from korea . After an awkward introduction we dropped our bags and got out of there and probably stayed out for about ten hours walking around Adelaide not really wanting to go back to the room it felt uncomfortable to be in there.
Adelaide seemed like a quiet city with not much traffic and a lot less people than anywhere we had been in Asia . The main shopping area looked a little like the Moor in sheffield it felt like the Moor in sheffield when Ruth said she wanted to go in Woolworths . They didnt have pick N mix.
After we could'nt walk aimlessly any longer we went back to the hostel to our cosy bunk beds and our new family.Ruth said she would like to sleep on top of the German so i were left to sleep on the Korean. After two nights the German moved on so our family became three . Ruth got a little worried about the korean lad he never left the room and i mean never he just laid there watchin Friends on his lap top til the early hours of the morning       Ruth really enjoyed it I think she had been missing Friends. Ruth liked the Korean who I named Tom Po she wanted to keep him but I had to brake her heart and tell her no we did 'nt have room for a small Korean boy.
We stayed in the hostel for four nights the main reason for us movin on was we had bought a car it was a Mitshubishi Magna Executive station wagon (estate). We bought the car from a nice man called Nick who was predicting world economic melt down and the start of a great world depression he gave us a lot of advice on what to do so we would be ready .I kept thinking there's not much you can do when all you own is a ruck sack full of clothes. Any how we bought the first car we saw from old Nick and drove off into the sunset heading to the Barnard family who we had arranged to work for through the woofing scheme( woofing is where you work for someone in return for food and accommadation you work between 4 and 6 hours a day and live with them in on there land.) Tune in next week for more wacky adventures.
