From Macau we flew to Chaing Mai , Thailand .Sofia and Paddy had kindly agreed to put us up for a week (Ruth worked with Sofia before she moved to Thailand to teach at an international school) Sofia and Paddy live on campus with there two lovely and lively daughters. The school was about 40 minute drive out of Chaing mai a winding road up the side of a mountain which led to amazing views of the Thailand rain forests. Whilst in Thailand we were very busy so I reckon the best way to get through all the things we did is a list with a little comment if thats ok with you guys .Oh just to let you know there are no poo stories in this blog from the comments and feed back I got a lot of you like poo stories so if thats what your looking for you might as well stop reading.   THE LIST

James's favourite things

Flight of the gibbon was quality . High up in the canopy of the rain forest the trees were connected by zip lines so you flew through the trees like a gibbon .I also enjoyed the zoo i really bonded with the giraffe i fed. Enjoyed driving not many rules basically put your foot down and don't hit too many mopeds.I think I mostly enjoyed spending time with the Lyons family they made us feel so welcome good to share a few beers we a bloke especially a wednesdayite.

Ruth's favourite things

There's so much to choose from!! It was great to see the Lyon's family and we are both very greatful to them for letting us stay!! Thankyou we had a great time!!  They have a great way of life even though thay had had a hectic week before hand!! While we were there it was interesting due to the dodgey tile in the bathroom shall we say!!

I really enjoyed seeing the elephants and having a ride, I have been looking forward to that for a long time and it was well worth it!! I had fun when I went into Sofia's class it reminded me of the days back at Reignhead ( what fun and laughter!! ) 15 gorgeous children!! The temples and the markets are always a highlight for me! The flight of the Gibbon was also very exciting, I would recommend it !!

I must however finish on a funny story of Sofia and I going to the sauna, it was a giggle. For those people who know Sofia she is not one for showing lots of flesh! Well there were some very friendly ladies in the sauna and it all got a bit too fleshy.  I have never held a towel quite so tightly around myself with a facemask on!

Also Hannah and Niamh were great fun, I had professional manicures and pedicures ( so did James, I think he chose pink) and I would definately go back just for the foot and hand massages, which I am in need of !!! Thankyou!!

Anyway we both thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chiang Mai  it has definately been a highlight!!
