After our pretty lengthy bus and ferry trip we found ourselves in Ubung bus station, BALI at 4-30am! A short wait and a bemo (local bus) saw us arriving in Pandang Bai. This is a local fishing harbour used as a stop off for travelers looking to catch the ferry to Lombok and the Gili Islands. We really liked the chilled out atmosphere and the local fish was amazing. Nigel-I/rach was very brave and ordered prawns cooked on a BBQ which i even de-shelled them myself, they were lush! The following night we both ate Mahi-Mahi which is the local catch and delicious! I've/(rach) changed!! Thanks to our crazy but big hearted hotel owner (Bill) we were directed to see all the best sights (blue lagoon and the white sands beach), as well as the best rates from the tour operator who came direct to our hotel for our gili/lombok tickets! We did have one problem though...the atm wouldnt accept our card so James embarked on an 34km round trip on the back of moped to the local town/atm!! He loved it :)! We really enjoyed our stay here and been able to settle in one place for a couple of days and the local people were really friendly. However we were really excited about the next stage of our journey.
