Noosa to Hervey Bay

Today is one of those days that seems to fly by. Not because we fill it with thrilling activities that chew through the hours. Rather, by the time we've been on the bus for six hours, arrived in Hervey Bay, checked into our hostel, bought, cooked and eaten dinner, we're exhausted and ready for bed.
The hostel is great though. It's called The Woolshed because it used to be a woolshed and it's now a collection of cabin-type backpackers rooms. We have a double room that, apart from not having a private bathroom or TV, could pass fora room at a mid-range $100/night hotel.
The common room is particularly cool and we have the whole place virtually to ourselves.
Hervey (pronounced 'Harvey' for some reason) Bay doesn't have a huge amount going for it but it attracts tourists because it is a jump-off point for Fraser Island. Most tours to the island are of the 3-day 2-night variety but we've only got time for a one-day trip, which we are looking forward to tomorrow.
