and bone crushing waves...........in some ways its comforting.........as you can imagine swimming without fear of death may be .....it also seems kinda boring.........at first anyways.....
And so we found ourselves in Rab......happily next to the water again after a few landlocked weeks......
Unfortunately as well as water we soon found ourselves immersed in the saturated Croatian tourist season of August........this did not bode well for the coming weeks.......Croatia may be one of the worlds best looking countries but it's also gotta be one of the most overloved countries in the world........or at least in August . More of this whine later in Dubrovnik methinks.......
Rab itself is a beautiful and diverse little island......with rocky outcrops, sweet smelling pine forest, a well preserved old town...... pretty good water...................buuuuut, lots of tourists.......mainly of the overly soaked in olive oil and wearing budgie smugglers type or the i'm topless on the beach so i'm going to rub by breasts with sand like i'm a porn star type...........with a smattering of i'm a bratty teenager who was taken here by my parents and i'm hating every second of this type........and a few i'm three years old and have discovered my voice can sound like a horror film type.............all in all...........a happy bunch.......and despite all of them so were we as always while we were here........
