Today we decided to do more touristy things and headed on a city tour of rio!

We first headed to a nice beach where hang gliders land for a quick coconut water.

Then we headed to tijuca national park, a short walk in and we arrived at a waterfall for some pictures. It was very funny there was a "model" getting photos taken in front of the waterfall with various high heels but we use the term model very loosely!!

Then we headed off on the bus for Christ the redeemer, the famous statue 40m tall was finished being built in 1931, one of the 7 new wonders of the world. It was an incredible site, with some amazing views of rio from all around.

We headed out for a buffet lunch, all you can eat and then off to out final destination, lapa to visit the famous tiled stairs.

The lapa stairs was created by a Chilean artist, beginning in 1990 he started tiling a set of stairs in lapa and is continually working on it. People send him tiles from all over the world to include in his work. Was a great site!

At the end of the tour we headed back to our hostel with our new found friends to get ready for our night out in lapa. Lapa has famous street parties on Friday and Saturday night, where streets are shut down for awesome street parties every weekend, including many clubs open with samba music. Was an awesome night with great new friends, and the locals teaching us samba, language barrier was no problem!! What a fabulous ending to a great day!!
