I took the drift handheld camera with me and got some great video
It started to really storm an hour later, so we decided to pack it up and head home.
Yesterday Julaine offered to take us up to see the volcano at Poas, which was about 40 kms or so from his house...though it was hard to tell exactly because the signs that showed the distance started going up at one point as we got closer and then down again( 29KMs to Poas....then 32 KM's to Poas...okay). When we got to the part entrance however, the fog was so thick that we could not see more than a few hundred meters and decided to try tomorrow. Along the way home we stopped to grab gas which is actually around the same price per liter as Canada right now here. Across from the gas station was a little store and espresso bar where I had a Mocha made with hersheys chocolate syrup and some sort of candy that resembled nuget. We also stopped out a lookout point that gave a great view of Alajuela and took a few pics before heading back into town for a Boca and a drink at one of Juliane's regular spots.
Once we got back home it was time to kick back for a while as we had no plans and Gracie(Steves new girlfriend) was coming over later to make us dinner
Through the conversations of the day Steve offered us a ride back with him to see where he lives in Pavones at the southern most tip of Costa Rica almost on the border of Panama. This is awesome! Funny enough, this is right near the Yoga farm that Lynsey researched. The total drive takes about 11 hours but on the way is Manuel Antonie National Park which we have been told is amazing and flights back to San Jose from Quepos are only $50!
O....the weather cleared up, so its time to try the volcano again this morning. More to come.
