Well, I have 5 days left and I am off to South America. I am flying out of Dulles Saturday afternoon to arrive in Miami for the night. The following morning I will be flying out to Quito to meet my host family for the next 2 months. The last few weeks have been a little crazy but I know once I am in the friendly skies I will feel better:) I'll update my travelogue as often as possible, and when I find out I will e-mail you my mailing address (for the first 2 months anyway).
Some of my many personal goals for this trip:
A)To become as close as possible to fluency in Spanish (wishful thinking)
B)To visit (To name a VERY few): The Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), Machu Pichu (Peru), Buenos Aires (Argentina), and maybe the Salt Flats(Bolivia).
C)To meet as many interesting and wonderful people on the way as I possibly can-both locals and travelers (One of the best parts of travel!).
D)To successfully budget my money so that it will last the duration of the trip:)
E)To not catch any crazy illnesses
F)To hitch/ride in a chicken truck (for Mark and Brian:))!
G)To eat as much authentic South American food as I can without gaining one pound (again, wishful thinking), and to answer a recently asked question-yes, I am going to eat Guinea Pig in Peru.
H)To come back in one piece with most of my things:)
I could go on with the goals list-but some I want to keep for myself:) I'll write soon! Adios Amigos!
